Why is it important??
As survivors we want to highlight the reality that society’s beliefs about domestic abuse ripple directly into the justice system. If we continue to view abuse narrowly or with victim-blaming attitudes, justice will remain inconsistent and often harmful.
Shifting the perspectives toward recognising the complexity and seriousness of abuse, the system can better deliver protection, accountability, and fairness.

Through art, poetry, audio, video, and live performances, you’ll experience how survivors want to be seen, heard, believed, understood and supported, and hear about the research at the University of Surrey that is helping their cause.
Each space invites you to see, hear, and reflect on the emotional, practical, and system-based challenges that survivors face and how we can all play a part in offering meaningful support.
